Ability to link a task to any time track session

Came here to add my vote, disheartened to see this has been brought up since 2021. It's been 3 years now.

Andrea Tseng agreed - really makes the timetracker much more cumbersome and near useless to me without this feature - how am I supposed to track how much time I am spending on each task for a project? Manually add them up?? I I have been using a different tool for this reason

There are multiple tickets for this outstanding since 2021. How has this not been prioritized?!

Seriously...the time tracker is kind of useless without the ability to track my time on a task.
Product requirements should involve:
- Time spent on a task
- Client/Project
- What date was the task performed
My client isn't interested in the time of day that I worked on something...they want to know how much time I'm spending on each task so they know what they're paying for.
If I don't know what task the hours worked is connected to...how is this of any use to attach this to my invoice?
I thought I would be able to do this when I upgraded to the paid version...but nope. I'm probably going to go back to the free version until this is fixed.

Being able to link time to project tasks makes so much sense. 100% this is needed!

This feature would enable me to migrate to Indy. I need to track time on individual tasks with comments and report on that monthly with the invoice. I currently use Clickup integrated with Everhour, create the timesheet in Everhour and manually create the invoice in Quickbooks, adding timesheet (including comments) as an attachment.

Absolutely agree, this would be amazing. I like to work with Projects, Tasks for each project, and track time associated with each task
